Post 7: Little to do as Winter brings on the deep freeze to River Dee

The Dee is freezing despite the salty sea breaks ..Snow is crunchy and not the usual slush. Aberdeen has not hit the colds of the Highlands but the chill factor from the North Sea is bitterly cold and keeps me indoors. An hours drive inland and it hit -20c last night!! Just like the Arctic they said...and another week of severe cold is expected.
Just over 4 weeks to go and, frustratingly, I have not done any cycling for the last four! The roads are icy and dangerous and the gyms have health warnings or are closed.....My bicycle still hangs on my garage wall, almost brand new!
Time to turn to more mundane matters like getting my Indian Visa; arranging for the neccessary jabs from the GP so I can fend off them things from nasty mosquitoes and buying a sleeping bag in the New Year sales, to rest my weary self in some comfort under the dark Indian skies...Hard to swallow this global climate thing...Today Miami hit -12c! Ah well, just one winter...
